Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser so that it can recognise your device on a later visit or during the same session. On thornbury.de we use a small number of them: strictly necessary cookies that keep your session and your consent decision, and — only if you allow them — statistical cookies that tell us anonymously which pages are read most often. No cookie on this site is used for advertising or for building a profile of you, and none of them contains information from your enquiry.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookieconsent_status | Stores whether you allowed or declined non-essential cookies | Necessary | 12 months |
| PHPSESSID | Maintains the technical session while you browse the site | Necessary | Session |
| _ga | Anonymous visit statistics, set only after consent | Statistics | 24 months |
| thb_lang | Remembers the display language you selected | Preference | 6 months |
The banner shown on your first visit asks for consent before any non-essential cookie is set, and declining leaves the site fully usable. You can change your mind at any time by deleting the cookies for thornbury.de in your browser settings, which makes the banner appear again, and every current browser also lets you block cookies generally, remove them on closing, or open a private window in which nothing is retained. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent forms and session-based functions from working correctly.
Two external services are embedded in this site: Google Maps, which loads the map on our contact section and is called only when that part of the page is displayed, and Google Fonts together with the jsDelivr content delivery network, which supply the typefaces and layout files. When such a resource is requested your IP address is transmitted to the provider, which may process it outside the EU on the basis of the standard contractual clauses. Details of their handling are set out in Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy; if you prefer to avoid these connections entirely, use a browser extension that blocks third-party resources.
